Tonight’s ride was unusual for several reasons. It was on a weeknight. It was entirely in one town. And there was only one hill. We cycled up the Bolton Access Rd, a climb of 1911 feet in 4.4 miles. We were temporarily dismayed to meet a road closure sign at the start of the ride. We decided to forge onward to see how far we could go. For a closed road, there was an abundance of automobile traffic so we thought our chances were good to make it to the top. As it turned out, the rains earlier this week had washed out shoulder of the road in numerous places but the road itself was mostly intact. And…yes…we finished before the storm. We now have 98 towns down with 153 to go.
