Searsburg, Somerset, Stratton, Sunderland

On Saturday, we went out on the 29-er’s for an epic back roads ride in southwestern Vermont.  We started at the town office in Searsburg and went screaming down the mountain on VT 9.  We then turned north into the Green Mountain National Forest on forest service roads and cruised up to the town of Somerset (population 5).  We continued climbing up, crossed the Long Trail, turned onto the Kelly Stand Rd in Stratton and continued up into Sunderland.  We returned via the same route with a bonus side-trip to the Somerset Reservoir.  Of course, this time the screaming downhill on VT 9 was  a grueling uphill.  With this excursion, we now have 142 towns with 109 to go.
